Welcome to the 4th Annual Gateway to the Delta Races, presented by the Batesville Rotary Club!
Fall Saturday mornings in the South are generally reserved for biscuits, tailgates and talk of the quickly approaching hunting season. Amidst the cooling air, changing leaves, gridiron grudges and fast approaching holidays is the race that is quickly establishing itself as a Mid-South tradition for those hoping to stretch their goals and refine their St. Jude pace times.
This November's installation of the GTTD race features a start from picturesque downtown Batesville, MS and takes racers through flat and fast farmlands, over and through gradually rolling hill-country and past the nationally renowned University of South Panola before heading back downtown for the finish and post-race celebration.
As always, 10 mile finishers will receive a comfy hooded sweatshirt, commemorative pint glass and high quality finishers medal. Race capacity is 300 participants in the 10 miler.
The 5k racers will enjoy a similarly fast course through some of the old districts of Batesville, lined with historic homes, and cheering Panolians. For their efforts they'll receive a snazzy race shirt.
We hope to see you this year for another great race. Your participation and support go to Batesville's Rotary Club reach children locally to promote better healthy and education and also children around the world to finally eradicate Polio, we're so close! Thank you in advance for your support.
